Palmetto Dining Room
The Palmetto Dining Room is a bright, airy room often used by the Governor’s family and friends for smaller, more intimate affairs. The dining room leads to an atrium, known as the Charleston Garden. The wallpaper is a 1919 reproduction of a Zuber print, “A Frenchman’s View of North America.” The paper on the south wall featuring Virginia’s Natural Bridge and Niagara Falls hung in the room prior to the restoration. The Medical University of South Carolina donated the Boston Harbor panels on the remaining walls.
